A Sadhu was taking bath in a river when a stork flying above, sullied him. He got angry and he burnt the stork by staring at it, using his powers. The stork fell down as ashes.
Then he went to a house for alms. The lady of the house was serving food for her husband. After finishing that, she brought food for the Sadhu. The Sadhu was angry for making him wait and he stared at her angrily. She smiled and said, “Did you think I am also a stork?” By her prophetic gift she had known what had happened.
We need not denounce the world and become Sadhus to receive spiritual powers. If we are faithful in our duty and live a godly life, God will bless us with spiritual gifts.
