Two frogs fell inside a deep bowl of curd. Both kept splashing, trying to keep their head up. After an hour one frog said, “There is no use struggling” and sank and died. The other frog kept on struggling. His feet ached. He saw no way out but still kept kicking its legs trying not to sink to the bottom. After an hour droplets of butter started to form. Soon they coalesced and formed a ball. A ball of butter floated on the curd. The frog climbed up on the ball and jumped out.
Life may be hard. But you should never give up. Keep on struggling till you find a way out.
026 The Cow and the Pig
A cow and a pig went for a walk. On the way they went into a supermarket. As they walked through, the cow exclaimed, “Look here my friend— milk, milk powder, butter milk, curd, cheese, beef, butter, ghee —
these are all my contri- butions.” The pig was filled with inferiority complex. After a while the pig said, “Look, look, look, here is my contribution — pork.”
So both continued to walk. The pig voiced its concern: “You give and I give too. But people love you, not me. They scold someone as ‘pig.’ Why?” The cow remained absorbed for some time and with a flashy smile replied, “It is because I give generously, regularly, voluntarily and happily. But you pig will not give till you are chased and caught and killed.”
We must give to God happily, generously, regularly and willingly not just when we have a problem.
